News media partners reported that a newspaper editor said he became violently ill shortly afterwards and called 911. Ambulance services were contacted to carry him away to the hospital, where it was confirmed that rat poison was contained in the meal he had consumed shortly before.

Surveillance cameras captured video footage from both the interior and exterior of the Taco Bell as the Sheriff’s Office oversaw an investigation into the matter. While there, he argued with employees because the restaurant’s drink station wasn’t working. After that, the man called 911 after he was served the food and became unwell, Bartmann says. He was then hospitalized.
